Invitation | A Colloquium towards Mobilizing Action and Driving Engagement | The Role of Civil Society in the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing

Online on Zoom
Date and Time: Thursday, 14 July 2022, 9:00am – 1:00pm (Eastern Standard Time)
The United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) is a global collaboration, aligned with the last ten years of the Sustainable Development Goals, that aims to bring together governments, civil society, international agencies, professionals, academia, the media, and the private sector to improve the lives of older people, their families, and the communities in which they live.
Civil society in its broadest sense has a fundamental role in strengthening connections across sectors and disciplines to build and strengthen collaborations and partnerships for healthy ageing. To expand collective reach the civil society mapping and engagement initiative was borne by a strong partnership between International Federation on Ageing (IFA), the International Longevity Centre Global Alliance (ILC Global Alliance), HelpAge International and the NGO Committee on Ageing (Geneva).
More than 280 organizations from 74 countries across every UN and WHO region of the world participated in this important initiative and indicated their interest in being part of a colloquium to learn more about the Decade, each other, and to identify opportunities for collaboration towards establishing a Decade of Healthy Ageing Alliance.
With this in mind the IFA, the ILC Global Alliance, HelpAge International and the NGO Committee on Ageing would like to invite you to participate in A Colloquium towards Mobilizing Action and Driving Engagement, exploring the role of civil society in the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing. This half-day event will provide an invaluable opportunity to mobilize and align action towards successful engagement of organisations within the Decade and beyond!
