International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) on 1 October – Join us

As organisations around the world prepare to mark the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) on 1 October, our Geneva NGO Committee on Ageing joined forces with WHO, OHCHR and UNFPA to organise a high-level virtual event, as a side event of the Human Rights Council that is taking place now until 6 October. WE are holding the event during the lunch break of the HRC. This year, more than ever we need to show how older persons are active participants in society and have the right to do so, wherever they, whatever their capacity, health or any other status.

We are proud that the Independent Expert, who held a very good interactive debate with Member States at the HRC earlier this week,  will join us so will the new ambassador of Argentina to the UN in Geneva and the Minister of Public Health of Qatar and the President of the World Economic Forum.

So Join us! Thursday 1 October 2020 14:00-15:00 CET/Geneva time. Live streaming https://tinyurl.com/UNIDOP2020. –  Password: Meetus@99

There is NO need for registration. Just join and add the password when asked for it. https://www.un.org/development/desa/ageing/wp-content/uploads/sites/24/2020/09/UNIDOP-GENEVA.pdf
